The Shelborne is a condo-hotel. Come stay at Robin's Nest in South Beach! Our wonderful private hotel room faces the ocean in the beautifully renovated Shelborne Hotel, at Collins and 18th, once home to the Miss America Pagent. It is one of the great Art Deco hotels, for which South Beach is famous.
The Shelborne, located at Collins Ave and 18th Street, is walking distance to Lincoln Road, Ocean Drive, The Bass Museum of Art, the Jackie Gleason Center for the Performing Arts, the Miami Beach Convention Center, the New World Symphony, etc. It's across the street from the Raleigh. We are practically next door to the Shore Club, 1 block from the Delano Hotel, the Townhouse Hotel, and the new ultra-chic Setai Hotel, so it's right in the middle of the hottest hotel nightlife action in South Beach. Not far are the cruise ships, the Miami Heat Arena, Joe's Stone Crab, Loew's Hotel and Emeril's Restaurant, The Wolfsonian Museum, Espanola Way, etc.
We are about a 30 minute cab ride from Miami Airport.
You can use the gym, saunas, pool (including towels and chaise), whirlpools and common areas (bars and restaurant - no charging to room), There is a concierge who may be helpful with reservations around town, especially if you tip him.
We have a phone in the room that provides unlimited local outgoing service and can receive incoming calls as well. You will need to use a credit card or your own cell phone, however, to make long distance or international calls.
Our room contains two full sized beds, a huge leather club chair with ottoman, a small round table and two chairs, and a kitchenette unit with mini-fridge, microwave and sink. There is no room for a cot. We prefer to rent out to 3 people or less at a time since we only have two beds, and the room is small (as are all Art Deco hotel rooms).
There is a wall mounted cable remote TV (w/HBO) and a stereo CD/cassette player, also with remote. We recently added a DVD player (with remote). The room comes supplied with linens, bathroom towels, beach towels, beach umbrella and chairs. Our private bathroom has a pedestal sink and a full bathtub/shower (it has great water pressure!).
There is free wireless internet in the lobby and pool area, as well as an internet kiosk in the lobby (fee service), or you can plug in your laptop and dial up from our room.
The Lobby area also has a pull down TV/film screen for big sports events. There is a very popular Karaoke bar in the basement of the hotel.
We'll provide you with extra towels, and for an extra charge do a change of towels and sheets every 7 days, and some light cleaning and vaccuming, provided you permit us some time to come into the room. We have cleaning supplies in the kitchenette for small clean-ups. We also supply a vacuum. There are basic food supplies (the unit has a mini-fridge and a microwave), and some appliances (hot water heater, coffeepot, toaster, blender, etc). Of course, we ask our guests to please treat the room with respect and keep it clean. No smoking is permitted in the room. |

In-season prices range from as low as $100/night to $150/night for holiday weekends. We must collect sales tax of 7% on the rental fee plus 3% bed tax.
Holiday weekends and special events are higher.
$65 cleaning fee.
3 nights miminum stay and discounts for stays of more than 7 days. Payment is by cash, credit card (via Paypal - 5% surcharge) or check. We require a $150 advance (non-refundable if you cancel), to be counted towards the total rental cost, plus a security deposit (refundable after the rental is completed). A rental agreement is executed for each guest. |
